Medieval: In European history, the
Middle Ages, or Medieval period,
lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the collapse of the
Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery.

Renaissance: the revival of European art and
literature under the influence of classical models in the 14th–16th centuries

Baroque:
Baroque architecture is the building style of
the Baroque era, begun in late 16th-century
Italy, that took the Roman vocabulary of Renaissance architecture and used it
in a new rhetorical and theatrical fashion, often to express the triumph of the
Catholic Church and the absolutist state

Classical: Unlike the Renaissance or Baroque
eras, which included many important composers and trends, the choral music of
the classical
era was dominated by three composers:
Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), and Ludwig
van Beethoven (1770-1827)

Romantic: Romanticism (also the Romantic era or the Romantic period) was an artistic, literary, and intellectual
movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century and in
most areas was at its peak in the approximate period from 1800 to 1850.

Modern: Modern history can be further broken down
into the early modern period and the latemodern period after the French Revolution and the
Industrial Revolution. Contemporary history is the span of historic events that
are immediately relevant to the present time. Themodern era began approximately in the 16th century
