What is a hyperbole?

And hyperbole is basically another word for exaggeration in writing. Like this, I have a million pages of homework today. 

it is an exaggeration, for example: that test was a piece of cake, a test obviously isn't really a piece of cake its just an exaggerated way of saying that test was super easy.
